Inspiration

Writing a book is very tough. The main problem is that you can not control your inspiration. You can provoke it sometimes, but unless it comes by itself, it just won't work properly. Inspiration, from my personal observations, comes after a good dream or if the morning is nice and peaceful.

My best time for writing is early in the morning, though sometimes late at night is better, depends on the scene I'm currently working on. I'm not professional, nor experienced, so this is not an advice, I'm just sharing. It's very nice to start working on your story as early as possible, before the annoying repetitive activities of the day start. Nice non-dynamic scenes are easiest in the morning, and so are dynamic scenes. Late at night is very good for dark scenes.

The book I'm trying to write is planned to be an 80 000-word epic fantasy story. By far, I've only got 12 000 and this is somehow discouraging. When I started, I was really excited about it, so the first six thousand were completed in just two days. Lately, because of the lack of inspiration, it is hard to write a thousand words a day. I'm planning on doing a marathon. Just sit in the morning and stop only to eat and take a shower, and then go to bed when I get exhausted. This, as I've tried it a few times before, will either bring my inspiration back, or quite the opposite.
